Carolina Day 2012

The Trust organizes and implements programs for public benefit in support of the National Park Service at Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie.

Our programs usually involve the cooperative effort of partners who are committed to historic preservation and education.

We are participating in the Sesquicentennial (150th anniversary) observance of America's Civil War, which began with the firing on Fort Sumter in 1861.

We participate in the annual observance of Carolina Day on June 28 which commemorates the pivotal Battle of Sullivan's Island at Fort Moultrie in the American Revolution. (See the Trust president's remarks at the 2012 ceremony here.)

Our current program priority is Kids to the Parks, a partnership that brings history to life at the forts for the next generation of Americans. Click here to learn more about Kids to the Parks.
