Friends of Charleston National Parks is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich history of several iconic national treasures – Fort Sumter in Charleston Harbor, Fort Moultrie on Sullivan’s Island, The Charles Pinckney National Historic Site, and the Charleston Light on Sullivan’s Island.

As the official philanthropic partner of Fort Sumter and Fort Moultrie National Historical Park and Charles Pinckney National Historic Site, Friends of Charleston National Parks (Friends) inspires appreciation and support for the National Park Service sites located in the Charleston communities. Your generous donation supports education and preservation efforts at Fort Sumter, Fort Moultrie, U.S. Coast Guard Historic District at Sullivan’s Island, including Charleston Light, and Charles Pinckney. The Friends are building a broad network of philanthropic supporters dedicated to committing their financial resources to preserve and engage people in the park. The Friends and NPS work together to develop partnership projects and programs that address park priorities and have the potential to generate philanthropic support.

May 8 | Thunder in the Harbor

6:00 – 7:00 PM

Join author Rick Hatcher for three evening lectures following the release of his new book, Thunder in the Harbor on Wednesdays, May 8, 15, and 22 at 6:00 pm in the Great Hall of the Old Exchange and Provost.

Books will be on sale in the gift shop. The event is proudly sponsored by the Old Exchange and Provost, South Carolina Historical Society, and Friends of Charleston National Parks.
